Organizer terms
Effective October 1, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you (the organizer) and The Desi Troop Holdings Ltd. ("Packdoor", "we") for using Packdoor to sell tickets and run your events website. You accept them when you sign up.
1. What Packdoor does
Packdoor gives you an events website, ticket checkout, a back office and a door scanner. You create events and sell tickets; buyers pay you through Packdoor.
You are the seller of your tickets and the organizer of your events. Packdoor provides the technology and processes payments on your behalf. Packdoor is not the organizer, promoter or venue of any event.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.
- Keep your business details, tax numbers and contact email accurate. We use them for receipts, payouts and to reach you.
- You're responsible for everything done under your organization, including by team members you add. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account without permission.
- Signing in uses one-time links and codes sent to your email. Keep your email account secure.
3. Our review and card payments
We review new organizers before they can take card payments. Until we approve you, you can still sell with Interac e-Transfer or give away free tickets. We may decline or withdraw approval, for example if we can't verify your business, or we see a risk of fraud or of events that don't take place.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. To take them you open a Stripe account through Packdoor and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe may ask you for more information and may limit your account under its own rules.
4. Your events and your buyers
- Describe each event truthfully: date, time, venue, line-up, age limit and what a ticket includes. Update or cancel it in Packdoor if anything important changes.
- Run the event as described, with the permits, licences, insurance and venue agreements it needs.
- Charge sales tax only if you're registered for it, and enter your GST/HST (and QST in Quebec) numbers in Settings. You are responsible for reporting and paying the sales tax on your tickets.
- Packdoor shows buyers the full price, with every fee and tax included. Don't advertise lower prices elsewhere for the same tickets that leave out fees.
- Set a refund policy that follows the law where your event takes place, show it to buyers, and honour it.
- Answer your buyers' questions about the event. Packdoor handles questions about the platform itself.
5. Money
- Card sales: the buyer pays on your behalf through Stripe. Packdoor's fee is taken from each sale and the rest goes to your Stripe account. Stripe pays you out on its schedule.
- Interac e-Transfer sales: the buyer sends the money straight to you. The Packdoor fee on those sales is recorded as owed by you, and we bill it to you.
- Tickets you issue from the box office (free, cash or e-Transfer paid to you in person) have no Packdoor fee for now. We'll give you 30 days' notice before that changes.
- Our fees are shown in the back office before you sell. We may change them with 30 days' notice by email. Changes never affect orders already placed. Sales tax applies to our fees where the law requires it.
6. Refunds, cancellations and disputes
- When you refund an order, the money comes back from you and from Packdoor in proportion to what each of us received, including our fee.
- If you cancel a date, every buyer is refunded in full, including all fees, and told by email. If you postpone or move it, buyers are told, and their tickets stay valid for the new date unless your refund policy says otherwise.
- If a buyer disputes a card payment (a chargeback), you are responsible for the disputed amount and Stripe's dispute fee, unless the dispute is caused by Packdoor's own error. Respond with evidence through your Stripe account when asked.
- If you owe money (refunds, disputes or Packdoor fees) and your Stripe balance can't cover it, we may recover it from future sales or bill you, and you agree to pay within 30 days.
7. Buyer information
You receive your buyers' names, emails and order details so you can run your event. You may use them only for that event, for customer service, and as the law allows. Email buyers marketing messages only if they agreed to hear from you (the checkbox at checkout records this), and always include a way to unsubscribe, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires.
Protect this information and follow Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and, in Quebec, Law 25). Packdoor handles buyer information as described in our Privacy policy.
8. What you may not do
- Sell tickets for events that are illegal, don't exist, or that you have no right to sell.
- Mislead buyers about prices, the event or refunds, or add charges at the door that weren't shown at checkout.
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, infringing someone's rights, or sexually exploits anyone.
- Try to get around our review, security, rate limits or payment checks, or access other organizers' data.
- Copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Packdoor platform.
9. Suspension and closing
We may suspend an organization if it breaks these terms, if we suspect fraud, or to protect buyers or Packdoor. While suspended, its websites stop answering and it can't connect card payments. Existing orders and tickets stay valid. We'll tell you why and how to resolve it, unless the law or an investigation prevents that.
You may stop using Packdoor at any time. Finish or cancel your upcoming events first. We keep order and tax records as the law requires (see the Privacy policy).
10. Your content and our platform
You own your content: event details, images, logos, pages. You give Packdoor permission to host, show and send it as needed to run your site, tickets and emails.
Packdoor, its software and its design belong to us. We may improve or change features; we'll tell you ahead of any change that removes something you rely on.
11. Availability and liability
We work to keep Packdoor running and secure, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. The door scanner keeps working offline and syncs when the connection returns.
To the extent the law allows: Packdoor is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits), and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the Packdoor fees you paid in those 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
You're responsible for your events. You agree to cover Packdoor's reasonable costs if a claim is made against us because of your event or because you broke these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Packdoor after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you may stop using Packdoor.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Toronto, Ontario hear any dispute, unless the law gives you the right to go to another court.
