Packdoor vs Eventbrite
Eventbrite is the biggest ticket marketplace. Packdoor is your own ticket site. They can work together: on Grow and Pro you can sell some tickets on Eventbrite too.
Fees on a $25.00 ticket
What the buyer pays on top of the ticket price, from each company's own published fees. Eventbrite publishes 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, plus 2.9% processing per order, and fees are paid by ticket buyers by default.
| Platform | Fee on one ticket | Buyer pays |
|---|---|---|
| Packdoor Start | $2.74 | $28.10 |
| Packdoor Grow | $2.04 | $27.31 |
| Packdoor Pro | $1.47 | $26.66 |
| Eventbrite | $3.52 | $28.52 |
Fees are shown before any tax on them, with the buyer paying the fee. Eventbrite's figure includes its 2.9% card processing; Ticket Tailor's includes Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30 because Ticket Tailor does not process cards itself. Packdoor's fee includes card processing. Fees change: check the company's own page.

Where Eventbrite is better
- A large public marketplace where strangers browse and find events. Packdoor has no marketplace of its own.
- Built-in ads, email tools and audience tools run from one account (some only in select markets, per Eventbrite).
- A long track record and 24/7 chat support for paid events (per Eventbrite's pricing page).
Where Packdoor is better
- Your own branded ticket site on your own domain, not a listing on someone else's page.
- A lower fee on the same ticket, and the price buyers see already includes Canadian tax on the fee.
- Interac e-Transfer, the box office and cash at the door, with no Packdoor fee.
- English and French throughout, built in Canada.
