Sales tax: GST/HST and QST
Packdoor does not add sales tax unless you are registered and you turn it on for an event. Small suppliers who are not registered leave it off.
Steps
- Open Settings, then "Sales tax", and enter your "GST/HST number" (and "QST number (Quebec)" if you have one). The format is checked.
- Confirm the message. The change applies to new sales from that day; orders already placed do not change.
- On each event, turn on "Charge sales tax on this event". It is off by default.
Good to know
- With the switch on, the tax is added to the all-in ticket price and shown on receipts. The venue's province decides which tax applies.
- Without a GST/HST number in Settings the switch is blocked and the event charges no sales tax.
